weathergeek's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- anger--unnecessary? so i went to tim's this morning to get a coffee and a sandwich. in line ahead of me was a break where traffic crossing could come through. just as the line was starting to move, some traffic came through, and a woman in an suv zipped in and cut in line. i was disappointed, perhaps a little angry, for about 10 seconds, and then i forgot all about it. when going up to pay for my stuff, the price quoted to me at the window was lower than the price quoted at the order box. it turns out the woman in the suv ahead had paid for my coffee. it was at that point that i realized that the anger that i had felt was pointless for two reasons. first, i had already forgotten about it; second, because she also must have felt something (embarrassed that she cut or perhaps thankful if she thought i let her in on purpose). either way, it ended up lifting my morning. anger is pointless. we all feel it, but it gets us nowhere. and more often than not, we soon forget about it anyhow. 7:29 a.m. - 2011-09-30 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
